Lauren Matsumoto is a painter exploring how we relate to nature. She is best known for her use of a hybrid form of painting and collage. Internationally, her work was presented in a solo exhibition in Hong Kong and group shows in Vancouver, Tokyo, and at the United States Embassy in Oman. She has also shown her work extensively across the United States. Matsumoto has an international collector base, with works held in collections across Europe, Asia, Australia, the Middle East and North America. She received an MFA from the School of Visual Arts in New York and BA in Painting from Yale University. Her honors include a 2019 Artist Residency at the MASS MoCA Studios and participation in the 2011 US Art in Embassies Program. She lives and works in Brooklyn, NY.
