LIVES IN / Bed-Stuy
WORKS IN / Bushwick
OCCUPATION / Art Engineer; a moniker I created to have a broader reach as an artist, curator, entrepreneur and shaman.
ON THE CLOCK / Morning workout listening to random youtube talks by Tony Robins or Joyce Meyer. Studio for a solid 8 hours -- escape to Starbucks at some point. Return to studio -- plot world domination with fellow BBS Artists and BBS owner Rafael Alvarez. Paint and collage some more then off to dinner with my husband Elvis before a few cups of wine with bad t.v. in bed.
YOUR ART WEEKEND / I am often curating shows so I am constantly scouting local artists' websites from home or visiting studios.
ALBUM / Diamond Life, Sade, no joke!
FILM / Felini's Le Notti di Cabiria -- without giving away too much, the movie ends where it begins and nothing could be more emblematic of life than that.
ARTIST / Neo Rauche, his absurd narratives and the scale of his work speak to me.
BOOK / Manhood for Amateurs by Michael Chabon.
EATS / Thai
LATEST PURCHASE / Artwork by the amazing artist Joseph Karwacki -- his work makes me want to make more art.
GUILTY PLEASURE / MUSIC -- I am an avid collector and hoarder of music, especially from record shops and thrift shops.
GRADE IN ART CLASS / A's all the way through -- it pays to go art school a little later in life!
36 HOURS / MIAMI -- even though I just learned to swim this past summer, I have always enjoyed Miami. Nothing like being cloistered on a balcony with an ocean view watching the clouds and passing storms move through, and I hear they have quite a good nightlife...
SUGARLIFT PICK / Foale Durkin -- those clouds and the reflective surface are alchemy.
